We believe we are called to share Jesus’ message of God’s love for all people through worship, word and action.

Our mission is to:

  • Worship to increase awareness of God’s presence and celebrate God’s love
  • Nurture people to grow and learn as Christians through mutual support and care
  • Serve people in need, challenge injustice and work for peace
  • Reach out to encourage others to follow Jesus Christ

Like most Methodist churches, we share our minister, Mrs Denice Morgan, with other congregations, so many of our services are taken by local preachers.  These are men and women who are not full-time church workers, but are trained to lead worship and the style varies Sunday by Sunday.

We have an international congregation, with at least six countries represented, including past students from the Telford campus of the University of Wolverhampton.

We work closely with our partner churches in Oakengates and Donnington.

An Exciting Experiment

From April to September 2015 we experimented sharing Sunday worship with Oakengates United Church - in the morning at Oakengates at 11.00am (together with Junior Church and the Little Fishes on Sunday) and in the evening at 6.00pm at St Georges. Towards the end of the six months trial the majority of people from both congregations found this to be a positive experience. However we decided to extend the experiment for another six months to the end of March 2016 before deciding whether to make this a permanent arrangement.
